I adopted George nearly two years ago from his foster home, Amy Kolb. When he came home with me he was so scared he wouldn't even go up the steps to enter the house. Getting him to the second floor was another two hours of patience and gentleness going one step at a time. Today, George is a fully certified track/trail search and rescue K9. He has become my true partner in all search efforts and devotes his will and heart to this. He is now cross training in Human Remains Detection and doing an excellent job. You can't slow him down, few law enforcement officers or agencies can rarely keep up with his pace when running escort out on searches, he is that driven. He has completed such difficult task as 35 day old vehicle trails and never gives up. I always trained German Shorthaired Pointers before working with George, and knowing the compassion, kindness, gentleness and love these big guys give back, I will never stray from the bloodhound breed. They are a pure joy to work with, live with and just enjoy life with. Thank you for your work, your dedication and for one of the best gifts to myself and all those he's served.

Sincerely,

Dorn J. Beddow,  Director Southwest Florida K9 Search and Rescue

PS. George is one of three bloodhound rescues that are working on our team.
